    shake, shake, shake, shake it...

    4.5 earthquake.
i think this is the second one i've felt since moving to california.

whenever i think of earthquakes i always think about that one earthquake during fall '06.
i remember having gone out the night before with jamie and laura and staying out pretty late.
when my bed started shaking i was too tired to get up and just laid there and went back to sleep.
thinking back on it, i probably should have gotten up. luckily, all was safe. however, the power was knocked out for the whole day.
i remember hanging out with jamie, laura, elise, and leigh (and others). eating hot dogs in the "horror film-like" setting of the cafe with the flood lights and plastic forks and knives. watching napoleon dynamite on elise's computer until the battery ran out half-way through. drinking warm beer. taking photos in the dark. making shadows on the ceiling with the flashlights. playing skip-bo in the dark with flashlights. walking to gateway to use the bathrooms. and i also remember how everyone thought that classes the next day would be canceled since there was no power...then at like around 11 that night the power came back on. everyone was pretty much bummed.
    good time, good time.

this earthquake was not as epic.
i was setting on the floor in my room, fixing up my tv dvds when everything started to shake.

and now i'm in the middle of moving stuff around in my room...again...for the hundredth time...because i'm never happy with the way i have my stuff.

    till later.

checked my phone and saw you rang...

here's just some random stuff about my day:this was what my drive to work looked like. it might be a little hard to tell but the highway was covered in so much fog, it was crazy. usually you can see clear ahead of you. today, however, it was just covered. yeah, i probably shouldn't have been taking photos on my phone while driving, especially in the fog. but as you can see there wasn't any cars around me at this point.
then i came home and got this in the mail:
it's the art catalogue from pete and travie's art show. i really wish i could have checked out the art in person since it's in a gallery in l.a., gallery 1988, but at least there's a blog. on the site you can buy some of the art with a portion of these proceeds going towards invisible children. side-note: for one of my printmaking projects last fall i did a series of three lithographs (in different techniques) about the children of uganda so i've done a little research on invisible children. the movie was so sad. and though i don't really have an extra amount of hundreds of dollars to spend on an art piece at least what i could spend, some of it went towards a good thing. but the catalogue is neat since it has bits and pieces of the art in the show as well as some stories from pete and travis of how the art/show came to be.
i also ended up getting this shirt. i remember when pete first posted it on his blog. i wanted one so it was good to see they had it for sale.
it's cool to see pete and travis expressing themselves in another art form. i knew travis was an artist, even gone to art school. but i should have known pete was artsy too. i mean he does like to get his hands into everything. their art is very graffiti influenced...and a few pieces kind of remind me of a few people i went to school with (mainly a certain painter i know). this was a piece from their show. this one was done by travis. the main reason it caught my eye was because it's of alex from a clockwork orange, who i just love. and while i was checking out the gallery's website i stumbled upon this print they have for sale:i really want to get it but it's $20. then again it's only $20 for a screenprint of something/someone i adore. in all realness i'll probably end up not getting it...and probably be bummed by that. but i'm not lying when i tell you i love alex/a clockwork orange. just like my love for b.boyd, alex/acwo have made it's way into a few of my art. this is a litho print i did as a crayon drawing of a very iconic screenshot of the droogs. and my chick-a-saurus that i made is also alex inspired (check out the eye paint). i even named him pete alexander. yes, the "pete" is after pete wentz...he was also an inspiration (notice the clandestine/bartskull). and yes, that is a good charlotte poster in the background. this was taken in my maui bedroom and ngl, i wish i still had that poster. and note the gc screenprint i drew when i was in high school though only half of the members are showing.
well after coming home from work and after getting my package, my mom and i went to the post office so we could mail something to my auntie. the line there was huge, last minute stuff. while i waited for my mom i listened to a voicemail i got. it was from elise telling me she was coming back to california today and also that laura was graduating and i should give her a call. so i did. she was in the middle of getting lei'd. i thought it was funny how she was trying to talk to me while all this was going on. we decided it wasn't working so well and we'd just talk later. then i called elise but could only leave a message. we always play phone tag. once we got home though she called and i was able to talk to her for a bit. she was at the honolulu airport. i really hope we find a way to see each other while she's in cali. and there was a moment were i swear we share the same mind sometime because i asked if she seen the digital short: jizz in my pants. i knew the answer would be yes but then she said she had just posted it on my wall. to which i told her i was going to leave her a message with it. i've watched this video so many times now, i love it. it's so funny and andy looks so good in it (along with the other loney island boys, though not a good look for justin). can't wait to hear the songs on the rest of their album.

then i happened upon this awesome .gif while lurking around some sites:
    jizz in my pants!
it's pretty much perfect. and speaking of rpattz, he cut his hair!?!
i found some photos while lurking (found some better ones, above, at a later time). he looks so different...and less smelly, haha. looks good though. it'll take some time getting use to it. dang, paparazzi photos are a little creepy. imagine getting your photo taken everytime you're out.
anyway, so that's what has been on my mind today.
    till later.

    always sunny...

so funny. a little messed up but still very funny. yay, for new episodes.

called elise during her show again. bonus, laura was there too. i miss those girls. got a shout-out on the radio. oh yeah.

and laura told me a great story involving me apparently forgetting to give her my new number (though i thought i had), her texting my old number after spotting douche bag (funny how i get texts about his sightings), only to get a "who is this?" text back (so i guess someone already has my old number), and her not responding which lead to them calling her. i swear i thought i had given her my new number, oops.

    back to work tomorrow.

    till later.

one more down, one more to go...

the interview went well, i suppose. the girl interviewing me was super friendly. she talked more than i did. but it did make the interview less stressful. i wouldn't mind working at this job either...any job would be nice actually. but this one seems really interesting, and maybe a little familar?

tomorrow one more interview. then it the waiting game...which i never end up winning anyways.

i got some awesome religious rings from a coin machine today. 25 cents each, sweet. i love them.

went to target, got more $1 hello kitty stuff, i just can't help myself. i also got some cheapy 64mb usb drives that were only $2. i learned that i might be able to save songs on the drives and play them in my car using my ipod car plug-in thingy. i hope it works.

listened to elise's radio show. that's some good music. i remember how i'd sometimes go with her and jamie to the station...at 3 in the morning! i'm glad she has a better spot now. i called in during the show to tell her i was listening. i'm probably do it again next week. ngl though, listening to all the events going on over there kind of bums me out. i really do just miss it there.

    till later.

ps. today is 9/11. i still keep those people in my prayers. i can't believe how long ago it was. i remember waking up that morning and turning on the tv. i had no idea what was going on and i was scared. there wasn't any school that day but i had to go for yearbook and i remember at one point watching the tv in one of tthe classrooms standing next to some friends and some teachers, and everyone just watched sliently with mouths open...
come november of this year we welcome a new and better administration and i can't wait. we need this.

sometimes the last thing you want comes in first...

sometimes the first thing you want never comes
but i know that waiting is all you can do
    sometimes...
    "strange & beautiful" - aqualung

i went and saw this movie today. i liked the first one so i thought i'd enjoy the sequel. and well i did. it was cute and sweet, you know, everything needed in a typical "chick flick." the storylines were interesting, although since the film had to squeeze so much into a 2 hour time frame, some parts felt incomplete and left me wanting more. but like i said, all in all enjoyable.

the characters were all pretty likeable and even at times relateable. one part that really made me smile was when lena enrolls in a life drawing class. oh the memories. i can recall a few awkward moments involving some of my male models. although i never ended up dating any of them, it did make me a like uneasy when one of them ended up to be a guy i was sort of friends with. and then another guy ended up in my class the day after i meet him at a friends house. all i could think about was if i should talk to him or pretend i didn't remember him. totally awkward. and then of course i end up seeing him everywhere. he even ended up as the lead in a play i had to go see for another class. i thought actors were suppose picture the audience members naked not the other way around. yup, good times.

it did make me miss being in an art class though. i pretty much lived in the art building the last couple of years and it saddens me to know that i will probably never set foot there again. now that's a place that holds lots of memories, both good and bad. oh well.

another of my favorite part of the movie, just like it had been in the first, were any of the scenes that took place on santorini, greece because that place is simply beautiful. i would love, love, love to end up there one day. definitely tops on my list of places i hope to visit, only to be outranked by paris. if only.

haha, i just remembered how jamie once came back from shopping and bought this pair of jean shorts. she said although the size not what she usually wore she got them because they were on sale and need a pair like that and when she tried them on, they fit pretty well. for some reason i felt the need to try on these shorts, even though jamie and i are nothing similar in size, like at all. but guess what, they fit. then just for fun elise tried them on and voila! they fit as well. it was our own little sisterhood moment, though we didn't end up sharing them. in fact that was the last time i even remember those shorts.

    well, till later!

place of the day: santorini, greece
