    thrift day...

interestingly enough, i ended wearing an outfit mostly made of items i've gotten at thrift stores:i got the knoxville/jackass shirt from savers on maui. i love, love, love jackass and johnny and wanted that shirt when they first came out but would have never actually buy it. well, seeing it at savers was like a sign and i had to get it. the skirt is from a thrift shop sort of near my working place. it an old navy shirt that was like two sizes too big but luckily that's an easy fix, plus it was half price (the whole store was 50%off) so it was like $3 or something. the glasses were also thrift. and though i usually living in my $2 white sunglasses, today i changed it up a bit. i got this pair at savers too. they're "blue max" and the "cool" thing about them is they make everything have like a yellow/amber tint to them. apparently they block out blue light, whatever that means.
i should have worn one of my thrifted shoes to make the outfit complete (i don't own thrifted tights/leggings). but i ended up finding these at the thrift store i went to today: a new pair of black boots! and when i say "new" i don't just me new to me but i'm pretty sure these boots were never worn (i mean i found the cardboard thingy in the toe part of one of the boots still). these are from the thrift shop i got the skirt at and everything in the store was still 50% off so the boots also came out to $3.also as of late, i've developed a habit of picking up flannel/checkered shirt from thrift shops. i don't know why. i got this one today. it more of a purple/lavender color.and i got this one last time. classic red and black. oh and you can totally see a little into my closet, which hangs another of my flannels i got at a thrift shop (maui).
ok enough about clothes. onto books. i always take a look at the books in hopes of finding something good/interesting. today i found these:
i think the main reason i liked this book was because it was tiny, maybe a just a little bigger than a playing card. and this was inside: so really it's dictionary without the definitions. and one of the things i like about use books is seeing if there is something about their past owners. in this book, on the last pages that were blank was some writing. one of them was a list entitled funeral cards sent with a list of names. interesting and sad.
i also got this book. the title sounded fimilar, like it was made into a movie of something, but i wasn't so sure. i ended up just getting it because it ended up being a quater. plus i mean look at that cover how could it not be awesome, haha. i later googled the title and it was made into a movie, a disney movie! i don't think i've seen it though, however, gregory smith is in it and i find that intriguing.and apparently this copy once belonged to a ms. burton, i'm thinking a teacher.
i also got this book about music and storytelling. it had stuff about robin hood, king arthur, pinocchio, and like other things.i especially like the drawings/picture in the book.and of course, inside the front cover someone had a little note, this book being a gift to someone.
and the best find of books:
a hard cover harry potter and the sorcerer's stone!!! i was late on the potter book train in the start and bought 1-5 in paperback (i actually got 1-4 as a set). but i have always wanted them in hard cover, just not willing to pay so much for them. i got for $3 (original priced for $6). how could anyone give this up? who would give this up:

aw, it was a chirtmas gift. "hope you enjoy this -" looks like they didn't.i'm hoping this person already had a copy and/or read the book beforehand. because for real, this book was brand new. i mean it even still have the price sticker on...maybe it was a gift that never got given?i doubt it means anything special but it is a first american edition copy. what i did know was how on the copyright page there was a little summary section: rescued from the outrageous neglect of his aunt and uncle, a young boy with a great destiny proves his worth while attending hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. and i don't know why but i find it funny that it says schools - fiction. england - fiction. i know it probably means something, i mean i get how fantasy, witches, and wizards are listed as fiction but schools and england, huh?

ah, heroes is finally back on. sylar is still a badass and oh so gorgeous. and ando! love him. can't wait too see what this chapter has to offer. the plane crash kept me thinking of lost though.

and gossip girl also came back with something new, unlike last week. however, i hear both gg and oth are going a long break again. ugh. well, i guess it'll give me a chance to catch on on big bang theory and how i met your mother. and i won't have to worry much about switching between heroes and oth.

    till later.

    everybody has a soft spot...

i watched all of heroes season 2 today. all i can say is...not enough sylar. oh and watching season 2 did not answer my question of how west was written out of the show because in his last scene he just flys away never to be seen again. gee, everytime claire gets someone she can be herself around he always ends up disappearing off the show. and nathan was actually likeable, well that's didn't last. ok, ready for my sylar love now:in this scene where sylar and maya were sitting at a park, i couldn't help be think how he really reminds me of nick (over it/runner runner). i always thought they had a similar look but there was something about this scene. maybe it was what he was wearing. and who could forget this scene. wet and shirtless, nice. i could have done without maya though...and her dead brother's body. watching the dvds reminded me of when season 2 actually aired and i had bri to watch/talk about the episodes with...now i have this blog for that, haha.
on the dvd there were a bunch of special extras and on the last disc were some clips from an untold story. and to my suprise and excitement most of the clips featured sylar! i loved the restroom scene. i mean sylar with a faux-hawk and a vest, love. love. love.how did i not know this existed?

i'm a bad sylar fan or maybe it's because i had more to life besides heroes/sylar at one point. besides heroes i also made a trip to starbucks. i went back to my original drink: ice chai latte with soy. i think the girl working the counter was new because she charged me like $1 something for it. i might not have gotten a chai in a long time so maybe the price dropped but the last time i remember getting it i paid like $3+. reminds me of the times my starbucks boy would give me the mall discount for my chai. oh, starbucks boy, how i miss those summer days. now that was a sweet, fun little crush. i want another one like that please. anyway, i have started taking photos of my sb cup and the interesting way people have spelt my name. i never thought i had a hard name to spell but maybe that's just me. this was today's cup:
she was so close but she forgot the "e" and i think she just gave up at the end.
and some past cups i've had:"josaphen" "josephy"
    "josaphen"
christmas edition. i guess "josaphen"is a popular way of spelling my name or maybe it's just the way i say it that makes them spell it like that?

    folie a deux...

i am home from work today.
    i am sick.
i am stuck resting in bed.

    it is cold.
    it is still raining.

being home sick proved to be a good thing though -
    i got to sleep in.
i didn't have to drive on the highway in the rain.
i got to eat breakfast for dinner.
i got to watch last night's episode of heroes that i missed since i fell asleep way to early.
    - speaking of which (heads up, this is my heroes/sylar rant), i must say sylar was so good in this episode. i know he's all evil again, but he's so hot. it was cute when sylar talked about having your heart broken, aw. though, his heartaches are pretty much self-inflicted, right? i mean he killed elle and his mom, two people that loved him. hmm, i wonder who his real parents are and how they play into all of this. and ando got his power. though, maybe not the one he wanted. he's still awesome though. and nathan's still a douche, never been a fan of his character. peter really needs to just let him go. ugh, new episodes don't start again till february. so. far. away.
and yay for sylar narrating the beginning (yeah, i looked it up. it's a good quote):
On the sixth day, God created man in his own image. Now it's up to us to figure it all out. Right, wrong. Good, evil. In each of us is the capacity to decide what drives our actions. So what is it that makes some choose selflessness, the need to devote oneself to something greater, while others know only self-interest? Isolating themselves in a world of their own making? Some seek love, even if unrequited, while others are driven by fear and betrayal. There are those who see their choices as dark proof of God's absence, while others follow a path of noble destiny. But in the end, good, evil, right or wrong, what we choose is never what we really need. For that is the real cosmic joke. The real gift that God has left behind.
and even after all that goodness there was still more.
this showed up at my door:
i ended up pre-ordering it awhile back. i can't believe it actually came on time. i ordered the "deux" package. it was the poster that sold me on it. i really like this image. it's cute. i know the perfect place for it on my wall. there is still so room left. all i need now is to get a frame. man, i saw so many places where they have deals/packages you can order for this album. i mean i even saw something at wet seal. sellout much...j/k. but i think the "deux" package was the right choice for me. i wonder about the people who got the "trois" package. they much have money to burn or are total die-hards. i could never spend $130 on something. i mean getting "deux" was hard enough for me. anyway, besides the cd and poster, i got a red and yellow fad rubber bracelet, a shirt with the same image as the poster, a mini red sharpie, and this shirt (though this photo is missing the box for fad):
which box would i check? tttyg is probably my favorite of theirs. though i do like futct a lot. and honestly, i hardly listen to infinity on high, i don't know why. well at least i'll have new music to listen to on the drive to work.
    till later.

    boom...

today was flower day at work. the flowers always comes wrapped up in newspaper so i usually end up checking out some of the articles and ripping some of the things out. today had some good finds.

there were two really cute comic strips:
    karate kid, ha! love it.
this elephant is just too cute. i want it.
    then i found another elephant.
then as i was unwrapping one of the bunches of flowers i saw something that said gossip girl. and wouldn't you know it, i had to stop myself from jumping up and down when i saw it was the ad with chuck on it.
and lastly there was a whole article that featured rpattz and kellan (and nikki).

after work i continued watching season one of heroes and finished the whole thing. now i really want to get season two. gosh, i've forgotten how evil sylar was. so good, so hot. i cannot wait till the shades of gray episode airs but that won't be for awhile. more sylar is always a good thing in my book.

ah, i love this scene. oh and what a nice surprise it was to see that kellan makes an appearance in five years gone. heroes/twilight crossover...nice.

    till later.

i walked through fire and i didn't get burned...

i went and saw 4 christmases today. it was good. not as funny as i thought it was going to be but it had it's good moments.

after that i ended up watching the first 4 disc of season one of heroes, 14 episodes. there was so much stuff i had forgot about like the fact that nathan has two sons. and poor zach (claire's best friend), gone just like that. speaking of which, what happened to claire's boyfriend from season 2, the one who can fly like nathan? was he written out somehow? i can't remember. watching these episodes totally makes me miss milo/peter's emo hair. i also forgot how long it was till zach actually makes an appearance as sylar.

picture spam of sylar from season one (just because): i think this was the first time you could actually see zach's face.
    cool.
i loved when sylar was zane. he's pretty good at pretending to be other people.
like when he pretended to be a delivery man.
so cute, bonding with mr. muggles. remember how future sylar has his own mr. muggles.
aw, poor sylar. i too did not enjoy the haircut.
    hot.
    yup, so hot.
    and he paints too! haha.
gabriel and his mommy. he's was dorky, i love it.
this was a cute scene. well untill...
everytime i see a snowglobe i think of this scene. that's not good, right?

and i have come to realize that my other favorite character is... ando!
go figure i like someone who's not actually a "hero." though it looks like he might become one soon. i just really like his friendship with hiro, it's cute.

though if i had to pick a "hero," it would be peter. i love scene with sylar and peter. even if it means they have to fight each other.
they're kind of like the yin to each others yang.

ok, i'm done with my heroes rambling.

    till later.

    monday night line-up...

i went to target after work today to kill some time. maybe that wasn't such a good idea. they are having a bunch of sales going on right now. and i ended up buying these: season 5 was on sale for $29.99, which i though was pretty good since it usually cost like $40-50. if only season 4 was on sale too then i would be all caught up. i guess i'll just have to wait a little longer.
and season one and two of heroes was on sale, which i was really excited about. i have been wanting to buy them for awhile now but they were always way more $$$ then i would pay. i ended up only buying season one though since i really shouldn't be buying things anyway but i just couldn't help myself.

season one of gossip girl was also on sale. i kept debating with myself as to if i should get it or not. i decided not to, at least for right now...but i really want it. i guess i have till sunday, that's when the sales end.

speaking of which, gossip girl was really good tonight. poor chuck. i knew it would be bart that died, too easy. too bad new episodes won't be out till next year.

    till later.

the perks of being a wallflower...

is a wonderful book but that's beyond the point...the perks to working at a flower shop is getting free flowers. i was actually given the flowers on friday but forgot them in the cooler. i'm glad they are still holding up somewhat well.

    gerbera daisies are so pretty.
they come in such fun and pretty colors.
so my main role at the flower shop is shop helper, normally helping out wherever is needed - cleaning, taking order, processing flowers...and as of late, i have learned how to make boutonnieres (high school homecoming) and wrapped bouquets (the bow's the hardest part).

heroes was on tonight. it was the first time since this season started that i was actually able to watch a full episode. usually i'm switching back and fort between heroes and one tree hill, which for some reason was not on tonight. yesterday, i even re-watched the first 3 heroes so far online in their entirety. but i'm glad i got to watch tonight's one in full. i mean come on...sylar a.k.a. gabriel. he's always been my favorite. sure he's "evil" but is it really his fault? haha. he was so sweet with his kid...i did shed a tear when he died. oh and the glasses! love.

    love it!!!

it's weird, since i'm re-writing my back entries i feel like i'll be repeating myself at times. oh well. i really need to catch up on it.

    till later.
