today i had the day off.
my mom and i went to san diego.
it's been awhile since we've been there since we found that asian mart here.
but they still don't have everything so it was off to san diego.
the drive toward there is a nicer one than the drive to l.a.
or so i'm told.
either way is good with me as long as i get out.
at one point i mentioned how nice the mountains looked to which my mom asked why i don't draw anymore.
no time, or so i say.
when i'm in school i actually have to draw and come up with ideas.
i miss it.
so we made our stop to seafood city and filled up the cart.
then we stopped at this one filipino restaurant. so good.
it got super busy since it was near lunch.
interesting to see all different types of people eating there.
then it was a stop to a random mall.
i can't remember the name off hand.
it was the first one on the list on my gps.
it was nice.
got some clothes.
i really like the general area of san diego.
i need to start researching what else is there besides seafood city, haha.
who knows, i might end up moving there.
i pretty much have it set in my mind that temecula is only a temporary stop for me.
at least that's what i hope.
i really don't like this area...at all.
nothing to do...or at least nothing i really want to do.
i'm trying to make the best of what i can but i've been here for a few months now and i'm still not feeling it.
i don't know how long this will last but i know it's not going to be forever.
who knows, maybe in a year i'll feel differently.
only time will tell.
till later.

where in the world is carmen san diego?
remember her. i use to love watching the cartoon. but the game show was my favorite. the rockapellas and the map at the end, haha.
anyway...
for my mom going to san diego usually means going to seafood city in national city. it's this big supermarket that cater towards the filipino/asian market. and of course it's has lot of seafood. a lot of the stuff there, you can't find where i live. they even have aloha shoyu there. i feared i was going to have to get use to the taste of kikkoman when i first saw they didn't carry aloha at my local vons or ralphs. anyways here's some photos i took from my blackberry.

seafood city:
fish, fish, and more fish. not only do they clean it for you, they even fry it for you.

my favorite section. hello pandas, pocky, and hello kitty type yan yans. strawberry flavor for me, please. they even have calpico with hello kitty on the bottle. the strawberry one's my fave of course.
everytime i see this there i want to get it but i have a feeling it might not taste that great. but it's only like $3-4, so maybe next time.
the outcome. my mom likes to make sure she's stocked up.

then we went to garnet avenue because i wanted to check out some of the stores there. it was nice being able to see at least part of the ocean on the drive over, even if it was from a distance. i miss the ocean.
garnet avenue:
that's my mom walking in front of one of the murals there.
close-up of the right side. check out the coke sign:

close-up of the left side:
there was also this awesome mural of john lennon. i didn't get close enough to take a photo of it but i found one online:

and that sums up my day. i crashed once i got home. the drive takes a lot out of you. but i must admit i enjoy just being able to drive and drive and drive. aside from all the crazy drivers of course.
there's talks about a move...san diego maybe. if it does happen it won't be until at least a year from now. a lot can happen within that time. it would be nice being closer to the water though. either way it's good to know if needed, i can always escape to there, it's only an hour away.
till later!
