    one kapamilya go!

i had to wake up early so that we could get to the convention center before the lines started to form. i had to drive to ontario (california) since my mom wanted to go to this event called one kapamilya go! it an event put on by the filipino channel and a few of their stars would be there, along with some other things. the drive wasn't so bad, shorter than driving to l.a.we got there maybe an hour or two before the doors opened since we still needed to get tickets and my mom said it was on a first come first served basis. there was already a good number of people waiting. and so we waited and waited. it was a good thing we went early because the line got super long. finally we got it. there was a lot of people there, it was so crowded. to be honest, i wish i could have just stayed home. it was just too much people and nothing that really interested me. plus, it wasn't really that well organized. but whatever, my mom wanted to go. there were a bunch of booths to check out. reminded me of the tents they have at the maui county fair. anyway, most were filipino related ones. there were a couple of filipino based clothing companies. this one had a hawaii shirt. and another one had a dj playing music...but just to show how unorganized the event was, just two booth over was a radio station booth that also had a dj. talk about mega mash-up.
this one booth was for this new tv music channel called myx. their main attraction was they had rock band set up. i miss our little rock band parties...even though i suck at it, still mega fun. they had this drum off contest and this guy ended up winning. he got a 81% on expert level, though i can't remember what song it was to. he's prize was an i-pod touch, lucky.
on the main stage was were the performances took place. before the main "event," myx opened up the show with a couple of performers. the host was this filipino comedian, who was super funny. then there was this female filipino rapper, a rap duo, and their main performer...david hernandez from american idol. he sang two covers, j-mac's leavin' and ne-yo's closer. afterwards he came by the crowd to say hi and take photos. he seemed really nice.
there was another long wait till the main attraction. it took so long and everyone had been on their feet for hours already. again, proof of how badly put together this event was there wasn't even a seating area. i guess they rather cram as much people into the room than take up space with chairs.
it got a little too much for me towards the end and so i picked to hang back and sat on the floor. by the end of it...it was almost 12 hours into this "trip" and i couldn't handle it. luckily, my mom also felt it was time to go soon after that.
my favorite part of it all...the food. and the best part, they had a beard papa's booth there with cream puffs. plus, towards the end they cut their prices. yum! boy, was that a long day...

    till later.

and i’m here and this heart screams fear like a lion...

i tried to get my laptop problem fixed today but the part i bought at best buy didn't fit. hopefully, the problem gets fixed soon.

anyway, i got a package in the mail today. it was the runner runner ep i ordered from smartpunk awhile ago. ok, so i already had the ep/cd. but if you pre-ordered it from smartpunk you get a free shirt and the "so obvious - acoustic" mp3. so of course i needed to get it, haha. plus the cd looks different, kind of. i actually now have 3 different cds, of what technically is the same cd, give or take a few songs. i usually do that, buying the same cd again if something special comes with it and if it's one of my favorite bands. that would explain why i have two copies of step outside yourself - over it's cd. one is even still sealed up, i just wanted the phone call, haha.

the shirt that came with the cd.

    autographed cd.

    the 3 cds i have.

tonight i went and checked out some live music down by the movie theater near my house. the band i caught was called war stories. they are from san diego. and really good. my mom even liked them. their bass player did some sweet dancing and the singer was kind of cute with his (faux?) leather/bomber jacket. i would have stayed later to catch more bands but it was really cold, since they played outside, and i didn't have a jacket.

well, tomorrow it's off to ontario cause there's some sort of filipino thing going on there that my mom want to go to.

    till later.

    always sunny...

so funny. a little messed up but still very funny. yay, for new episodes.

called elise during her show again. bonus, laura was there too. i miss those girls. got a shout-out on the radio. oh yeah.

and laura told me a great story involving me apparently forgetting to give her my new number (though i thought i had), her texting my old number after spotting douche bag (funny how i get texts about his sightings), only to get a "who is this?" text back (so i guess someone already has my old number), and her not responding which lead to them calling her. i swear i thought i had given her my new number, oops.

    back to work tomorrow.

    till later.

    hello panda...

2nd day at work. just more of following everyone around. still a bit overwhelmed most of the day. loads to remember.
and for some reason i had the song "part of your world" from the little mermaid stuck in my head as i was cleaning up. random.
when i got home, my mom and i went to the asian supermarket in town and i got a box of strawberry hello pandas...yum. haven't had them in awhile. i almost got some strawberry yan-yans as well but maybe next time.
i guess that's it. not really much to talk about.
day off tomorrow. maybe i'll sleep in.

    till later.

    flowers, flowers, & more flowers...

today was my first day at the flower shop. it was also the day that they buy the flowers from the market. and so today was all about processing them. it was a lot of flowers. more names then i can even remember. but hopefully with time i get the hang of it. i had to shadow the girl who's job i'm taking over. she was cool. it's just weird having to follow her around, trying to remember everything. i just hope i can pick up everything quickly when she does leave.
anyway, after work i stopped by the target in the area. the flower shop where i work is actually in a different city then the one i live in. i have to take the highway to get to work. it's kind of like living in kahului and working in kihei. well back to target. i dropped in to check it out and i found this awesome buddha statue for only $2.50. i needed to have. especially since i lost my baby buddha statue i got at goodwill somehow during my move and have missed it ever since. they actually have another buddha statue that i might pick up next time around.
    my little religious area.
my our lady of guadalupe candle, love it. my new buddha statue. and a print from my friend brad, which is printed on a page from the bible - the book of genesis - in a frame i spray painted.
wow, looks like i should dust.
speaking of my religious things, here's a scan of my religious rings i got from the coin machine. it was hard to get a good photo of them and the scan's not that much better but sara (probably my only reader) wanted to see them. haha, i put them on the drumstick i got from james.
oh and about that necklace, i got that at target today too. queen of hearts, i couldn't leave it behind.
    and it's reversible too.

for a post titled: flowers, flowers, & more flowers this post is seriously lacking some flowers. but after all the flowers i've been around today and probably will be around seeing as i do work in a flower shop now, the title pretty much sums up what will be part of my life for quite some time.

    till later.

    maybe the tides are changing...

and let's hope it's for the better.

i got a call from one of my interviews. it was a follow up, on the phone second interview. i think it went well...

then not too long after that call, i get another phone call from the second interview i went to on saturday...

and i got the job! finally after a little over 3 months of nothing. so what's this job? i am working for a little mom and pop flower shop. oh and i start tomorrow. i'm a little nervous to say the least. first days are always scary though, right? the way i look at it is maybe it'll be a little like when i was working at the studio. you know, helping out with whatever i can. doing a little of everything. although, this time i won't have my awesome co-workers/friends by my side. but it's a job nonetheless and i need this.

maybe now i'll finally feel like i'm actually here. that this is home.

    till later.

    take 2...

should have known that it wasn't even worth getting in.
should have known by the way the day was going that it wasn't going to end well.

what i did learn is that my priorities are messed up...
and i guess they have been for awhile now.

i need to learn how to just let it go.
i need to be done with all that.

gosh, when did i get so selfish?

    cryptic much?
    isn't it always this way...

    till later.

    i want to go home.

just when i thought i was done...

seconds before i headed out the door today for my final interview this week i get a phone call to set-up yet another interview for tomorrow. figures. but it's for a second interview for the one i went to earlier this week. hey now, look at that someone actually called me back. this is a good thing, right. i can only hope things work out for the best in the end.

it's getting a little colder now, but still heats up in the afternoon. such weird temp changes.

    till later.

one more down, one more to go...

the interview went well, i suppose. the girl interviewing me was super friendly. she talked more than i did. but it did make the interview less stressful. i wouldn't mind working at this job either...any job would be nice actually. but this one seems really interesting, and maybe a little familar?

tomorrow one more interview. then it the waiting game...which i never end up winning anyways.

i got some awesome religious rings from a coin machine today. 25 cents each, sweet. i love them.

went to target, got more $1 hello kitty stuff, i just can't help myself. i also got some cheapy 64mb usb drives that were only $2. i learned that i might be able to save songs on the drives and play them in my car using my ipod car plug-in thingy. i hope it works.

listened to elise's radio show. that's some good music. i remember how i'd sometimes go with her and jamie to the station...at 3 in the morning! i'm glad she has a better spot now. i called in during the show to tell her i was listening. i'm probably do it again next week. ngl though, listening to all the events going on over there kind of bums me out. i really do just miss it there.

    till later.

ps. today is 9/11. i still keep those people in my prayers. i can't believe how long ago it was. i remember waking up that morning and turning on the tv. i had no idea what was going on and i was scared. there wasn't any school that day but i had to go for yearbook and i remember at one point watching the tv in one of tthe classrooms standing next to some friends and some teachers, and everyone just watched sliently with mouths open...
come november of this year we welcome a new and better administration and i can't wait. we need this.

    Wednesday, September 10, 2008

    and the search continues...

i woke up this morning to a phone call asking me to set up an interview for yet another job.
    it's for tomorrow.
    great.
you'd think with all these interviews someone's bound to hire me. please.

project runway. greatness. christian, daniel v., and wesley & daniel back in one episode. loves it. blayne finally went home. i never liked anything he made but he was interesting to watch. i mean the whole "hollar at your boy" thing with tim gunn was great...mainly because of tim though.

the runner runner boys added this little video clip of the race from their video shoot. and like i said before you can catch me looking like a fool jumping up and down cheering them on from behind. can't wait to see how the video turns out.

once again, i need all the luck i can get as i go into yet another interview tomorrow. let's hope i don't suck.

    till later.

we get by just fine here on minimum wage...

too bad i don't even have a job at the moment.
let alone one that pays minimum wage.

yet another interview for yet another job i probably won't get.
it'd be nice though. everyone seemed friendly and the shop is cute. reminds me of working in the studio.
    i can only hope.
another interview on friday for another job.
gosh, i really hate interviews...i suck at them, true fact.

ran into the dollar store next door to check it out and i found this:
yikes. poor ryan. "2 for $1." ok so it's not like a full music/concert dvd or anything. i think it's like a few videos...but still only 50 cents. that can't be good. i almost bought it just to buy it. come on it's only $1 and i could get 2 but then again i'd probably never watch it. and hell, i could get something off of mcdonald's dollar menu.

what i did buy, not from the dollar store, was the cosmo girl issue with the twilight boys inside. don't know why, i already read the article online earlier but whatever. rpattz, taylor, and kellan (he wasn't on 90210 tonight, bummer). no jackson or cam though. oh and i knew the fangirls were going to be all over russell brand when he cut into rpattz intro, totally called it. well it's twilight tuesday yet again, this movie needs to come out now...for real. ok done with my twilight rambling.

i also learned while reading the magazine that trace from metro station (and miley's half-bro) doesn't know how to spell california...apparently he is a high dropout after all. but like the article states...they do have a song called california and of course it is where he call home.

    hmm.

    till later.

    vma recap? not really.

yay for britney. after last year's trainwreck, she comes out on top. all those years of not getting a single vma, she finally win and 3 this time, including the big one. comeback? i guess it goes to show, you really can over come things. good to know.

and i'm not joking when i say this but i think ashlee & pete are cute together. for real.

more could be said but i don't feel like writing it all out.

    till later.

    trainwreck #2?

mtv video music awards are on tonight in like less than an hour, i think. i remember last year, like so many, watching britney's opening. i knew it was a trainwreck waiting to happen. but i was hoping for the best. oh britney. brianna, elise, jamie, and kevin all sat in bri's and my room watching my tiny tv to the mess that was britney's 2007 vma preformace. well, she'll be back for round 2 tonight, kind of. i really hope it's something good. she seemed to be cleaning up well so far.
btw, i loved britney and russell's vma promos, mostly because of the elephant. elephant!!! i want. i guess i now how this photo came to be (photo from pete's blog):

reaction to vma might be posted here later. or maybe not. we shall see. all i know for sure is, i love elepants and i can't wait to see the jonas brothers performance, haha.
    till later.

    oicwydt runner runner...

so i decided to go to the runner runner music video shoot, their first for so obvious, a song i adore. it took me an hour to drive to huntington. the drive wasn't so bad but the whole way there i was nervous of how it was going to be...but i manned up and just went for it. when i drove up they were shooting a bike scene with pete on the street. i parked on the side and saw nick by their house. he waved at me. aw i thought, that was nice, him welcoming people to the shoot. so i head over to him and he gives me this huge hug and said nice to see you again...so i asked if he remembered me. i thought he was just going to say how he remembers seeing me at one of their shows somewhere but wasn't sure which show. but instead he says, "of course, but aren't you suppose to be in hawaii?" the last time i actually saw nick was back in january 2006, 2 years ago, and after all that time he actually remembered me. seriously, one of the nicest guys i know. he got me a water and i watched awkwardly as everyone moved around me and listened to some interesting conversations - one of their friends really wanted to be in party boy gear, haha. the boys were really sweet though, making sure i was alright and thanking me for coming. nick reminded james that i was "josie from hawaii. the one who made them sweet leis." upon hearing this ryan then said he likes getting lei'd...maybe next time, haha. it was the first time i had ever met ryan and jon, even though i saw jon play in rufio with over it in '06.
at one point nick calls out his friend joey, "hey i want you to meet my friend josie. she's from hawaii too." ok, so first thing first that fact that nick introduced me as his friend. i know, it's lame to say that i was really touched by that but honestly i was. i've been listening to over it since high school. i've only been to 3 of their shows (then again they only had 3 hawaii shows). and everytime i see them they treat me more as a friend than just a fan. it was just really nice to hear him call me a friend. once again, nick = nicest guy ever. ok so back to joey. nick tells me that it's joey's house where they stayed at when they were in hawaii and how joey's a hawaiian moke but would never say it to his face or he'll get beat up. so ture. well, when nick introduced us i kind of already knew who joey was...well, i knew he was national product's old bassist and saw him play with them at surf-fest before he left the band to play for ashlee simpson! joey and i talked a little about my move. he was nice. funny, in my room i have a picture with his face crossed out...not by me, but by np current bass player.
then these three girls showed up for the shoot. they turned out to be really sweet and friendly and i got along fairly well with them. thank goodness, i was no longer alone. we hung out for a bit. even played the "guess how old i am" game, which i hate. my standard answer is now 12. everyone thought i was younger than i was, which is a good thing, right? oh and i got to talk to elise on the phone for a bit. i was on her home turf so i gave her a ring. i miss her and my friends back there, oh and all the crazy nights as well.
anyway, the boys changed into some sweet outfits complete with short shorts, classic. for the big race. when the video comes out you may get to see me looking like a fool cheering them on at the starting...and finish line. movie magic. i wasn't even in the race, but boy that tucked me out a little. oh, and i think the "jo-r mobile" is in some shoots, maybe. the boys were too funny with their a.d.d. kicking in. we ended up getting into this very deep conversation on how to pronounce, volcom..."it's not myspace dot come." i told them it probably comes down to the whole potato/potahto thing. i also found out jon likes to use big words and nick's not the smartest in the group. oh and also that pete liked my paul frank shoes. there were also these neighborhood kids that held up the finish line tape. they were so excited, "we're going to be on tv!!!" well, not going to give away who wins the big race but lets just say there was a nice group hug with nick and high five with the boys. it was a fun, hot, and long day...the guys weren't even done for the day. they were shooting scenes for the video the whole day. nick even invited us to head to the next location...but i was tired and still had a long drive ahead.

some photos and more stories from the set: this guy who runs an internet site, can remember off hand, anyway he was streaming live footage from the shoot the whole day. he also does this for concerts, pretty awesome. his friend he was with talked to me a little about it, sounds pretty sweet. anyway, this is nick and james showing off their lovely race outfits to the internet.setting up the shoot for the big race. what are they racing for? who will win?just look at those mega awesome short shorts. they all have chicken legs. ryan was the first to come out, it was amazing. nick was not feeling the look. at first pete was the only one not wearing converse, he noticed, and so he changed.yay jon. so funny, that video he made for one of the girls' friend, haha. and he gives little kids lollipops, awesome! icu ryan, creeping in the background. right before the photo was taken james took off his head band so he'd look more normal. their orange (?) tree cast weird shadows on my face but james looks cute. then james lets us into their house. ok, how crazy is that, shot at their house. i mean who lets fans into their house? it was a little awkward, like i shouldn't be in there or something. oh but they had some awesome artwork on their walls.
tracked down pete. once again someone was charmed by my snake charmer shirt. just like parker from say anything, pete liked my style from my shirt down to my shoes. oh while inside, some of their guy friends were watching tv...and all i remember hearing was, "don't put it on dirty dancing" and "attack of the double D cups." oh and something about porn in the afternoon, hence the double d comment.once back outside i found one of ryan's notes on the video. he was telling me before how they were doing the video all on their own. you could tell they'd be coming up with ideas on the spot from time to time. it was cool to know that runner runner was them working really hard to make things happen. ryan even said when they do their big budget video he's bringing us back to be in it, haha.i also ended up finding this little note. i guess someone wrote in the "is gay" part. i thought it was funny for a non-obvious reason.when i got to ryan for a picture he didn't have a shirt on. he asked if i minded. i jokingly said i guess it'll have to do. he talked about how his gf loves when there are shirtless photos of him, she's always wonders what's going on.when nick and i meet up again he had already changed. told you he wasn't enjoying the look. funny in this photo we're sort of matching. i like how in the pictures with jon, james, and nick they too automatically threw up the peace sign with me. before the photo was taken nick sang a little to me, "josie's on a vacation far away..." cute. after taking photos nick hops on his little bmx bike and talks about how he got it on warped tour in chicago at walmart for cheap. i told him about j's tall bike and he told me how zack from all time low has a unicycle. then one of the girls asked if he's really zack's brother. a question that comes up a lot. he told us the story of how that got started - "you could be like my dad." haha. but nick already told me a part of the story after i had meet zack at atl's hawaii show in february. but i did find out from nick today how zack apparently did text him about meeting me that night...when i told zack at the show that i knew nick he said he'd tell him i said hi. i didn't think he would because why should he but i guess he actually did. how nice is that, i guess i can understand why people might really think they really could be brothers.
oh and you know that pick necklace i always wear. well, i got it from nick at the over it/rufio show in 2006. i pretty much wear it everyday in hopes that i get a chance to see them again (lame, i know). and it's cool when people ask me about it since that gives me a chance to tell them about over it, now runner runner. anyway, after this photo of nick and i was taken i noticed my necklace had come undone which is not easily done. coincidence, maybe. before i went home i stopped to taken in the ocean.

oh how i missed the water and sand. weird.

i got to sit through so pretty sweet traffic on the way home. there was a big accident, a van was totally smashed. but once i got through that it was pretty much smooth sailing.

turned out to be a good day. it was fun. i hated to leave. i met awesome people. got to see some awesome people. and just hang out with awesome people, something i miss so much.

i guess all i can say is i'm pretty proud of these boys. they work so hard and they are sure to go far. i'm not sure if i'll ever get to watch them play a show anytime soon though. i just know they are about to take the world over. i'm just glad that i can be a part of it in some way. and it's nice to know that i can call them (at least nick for sure) friends.

    till later.

we'll all be in the streets!

i'm still unsure about going tomorrow.
i want to go but i feel like such a loser going alone.
i keep telling myself that it shouldn't matter and it'll be fun.
but it's the not knowing that's making me unsure.
it's not like i haven't done things alone before, which then turn out to be fun.
i'm just worried because it's a totally different setting than i'm use to.
what can it really hurt though.
it's a one time deal and since i don't know anyone, if things go bad at least no one will know who i am, right.
ugh, i really should look at things in a more positive light.
either way it would be nice to get out.
    huntington beach, should be nice.
    wish me luck.

    till later.

i need you here but you're always so far away...

if things work out i'll been able to see runner runner this saturday.
nothing's 100% just yet. so we will see if it actually comes to be.
man, i hate going to things like this on my own. i know i'm going to feel so out of place.
but hey at least i'll get out of the house. maybe even talk to people, haha.
the things i do so i won't bore myself to death.
if i do end up going, i just hope it's fun and i don't feel so awkward...
but then again, when am i never not awkard.

    till later.

this is the first song for your mixtape...

i'm in the mood to make mixtapes, or cds if you will. maybe the cfob mixtape help get me in the mood.
there's just so much music to listen to. and well since my ipod is pretty unless at the moment i figure why not make some mixes for the car and maybe for some friends.
i wish muxtape was up and running again.
we shall see what's to come of this.
    till later.

beverly hills, that's where i want to be...

boys at my high school never looked like that.

90210. yeah i watched it. i'll probably continue to watch it too. i remember when the original show aired. i was young at first and didn't understand the hype. my older cousin ria, who was in her teens/twenties, when the show first came out was who introduced me to it. as the show went on and i got older, of course i got hooked. ngl, i even had a brandon/jason priestley and dylan/luke perry poster in my room. true fact. dylan/luke was my favorite. then the show continued to go on and on and on. it lost it's appeal. i can't even remember if i even watched the series finale.

then the talks came of this new 90210. not really a remake, not really a spin-off, maybe a little of both. it was good enough. it'll be a new guilty pleasure, i'm sure. it'll give me something to look forward to during the week. it's just sad that tv shows are what i look forward to the most. it's all i do pretty much, watching tv. it makes me feel so lazy and yet i continue to do so. old habits are hardest to break. true fact.

i must say everytime kellan lutz appeared on screen it made me smile...hello emmett cullen. from rainy forks to sunny 90210, not bad. he needs more screen time, just saying.

    till later.

tv really does rot your brain...

how i spent my monday night...

    chuck bass.
i guess it's true, i really do like the douchebag type.

and of course it was peyton, it was always going to be peyton.
and poor brooke. guess that's what the spoilers meant about her being in a very dark place this season.

i could go on and on about these shows but right now my head is killing me.
    so with that said...
    till later.
